#fridayfavourite Waistlines

If a ball gown is calling to you then one thing you need to think about is the waistline of your gown.  There are a few options and each one gives a different look:

A basque waist will finish lower on the hip and dip down in the front.  The v helps to create a small waisted look

The next waist is what they call a low basque waist.  This flares out lower than the basque.  This gown will elongate your torso by giving you a clean line.

There is also a short basque. This is a really flattering cut as it elongates the legs and defines the waist.  The best of both worlds.

The next gown and waist is a drop waist.  It elongates your upper body and if structured like the Taiya creates an awesome shape.

The natural waistline.  This last waistline sits exactly on your waist.  The ball gown skirt then gathers out from the waist.  This is the ball gown that can give the widest skirt and the most gathers.  Fit for a true princess
