Why have a guestbook

Traditional guestbooks have perhaps fallen out of favour in the last few years, but I think the sentiment behind them remains the same.  It is a chance for your guests to write a quick note to the bride and groom as a memento of the day.

TOP TIP: Suggest what the guests should write.  e.g. how you met the bride and/or groom, your funniest moment with them.  A piece of advice you have for making the marriage great.  People are more likely to write something if they don't have too think to hard about it.

You can also use your guest book as a place to preserve mementos of the day.  A pressed flower from the bouquet, a favourite picture, all the details of the wedding party.  Having looked at my grandparents wedding mementos from so long ago I would love to know the name of the best man in the photos.  I think many couples forget that their wedding day isn't just special to them but to the generations that follow.

It can also be a great place to display your photobooth photos or store cards received with gifts.

Think of your guest book as a treasure for generations to come.
