Featured Bride Nic's wonderful Wanaka wedding
Nic Macpherson is one of my favourite brides and her photos are so incredible that I can't help but use them over and over again. Simon Darby did a great job at showing how happy Nicola and Luke are on their wedding day.
Nic and Luke added some really great touches to their styling. The couple met on their O.E in London so the seating plan, invitations and guest book all reflected the theme, including a London tube map for guests to write messages on!
Nic and Luke tied the knot in Wanaka and Nic looked stunning in the Bonny 215. Nic described her wedding as awesome with the highlights being the speeches and having their daughters at their wedding. Nic also gave some great advice to brides planning on having children at their wedding. "If your children are going to be attending your wedding and are young like mine (2 years and 4 years), definitely allocate in your wedding budget hiring a babysitter for the reception."
Having a destination wedding brings friends and family together with a holiday feel to it. Nic and Luke paid a small fee to have a dedicated wedding website to give guests all the information for their wedding, plus RSVP'ing via the site too. This is a great idea when asking guests to travel as all the information is available via smart phone - not left on the kitchen bench as you board the plane.
Gown: Astra Bridal Wellington, Bonny 215. They were professional but personal at the same time. Nothing was a problem. They listened and understood what my style was and what I liked. They asked questions and not once did I feel uncomfortable.
Jewellery: Astra Bridal Wellington – the pieces I used from the store were perfect. Again Lisa and her staff gave 100% the whole time and worked with me to find the right balance with the dress. Connie Montarna Comb / Connie Montarna Earrings / Bracelet – Natural Pearl and Ronde.
Mens Suits: Hire suits from McKnight & Brown Invercargill, Rembrandt – Lautner Jacket & Trouser. Gibson white shirt – brought them with skinny black tie.

Makeup: Gemma Kaler, Wanaka. Gemma did a beautiful job, the makeup really did last all day and all night!!
Flowers: Studio 24, Wanaka. Jen is a very talented florist - the flowers were exactly what we were wanting.
Location: The Venue, Wanaka for our wedding ceremony and reception. A fantastic team, everything was perfect. Maxine and her team make the day seem so relaxed and easy – stress free!
Catering: The Venue. I still get comments from our guests that the food was absolutely amazing and probably the best food they have ever had at a wedding. They also provided food for our BBQ the next day – again amazing!
