Cathedral Charm, Historic Gardens and Family Comradery, this wedding has it all!

Alice & Sam

This super sweet couple celebrated the coming together of these two families in a beautiful and personalised way.

The ceremony was held in front of their close family and friends during a Catholic Nuptial Mass at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Hamilton. Then followed by a fairy tale-like photo shoot and reception in the historic gardens of Woodlands Homestead and Functions Center.

Tracey at 2B's Photography captured this event beautifully; you can't help but feel swept up in the twirling skirts, the summer gardens and the delightful scenes of a young couple in love...

"I absolutely loved my gown; 'Carrie' was so floaty and fun to wear." My bridesmaids, my mum and I really enjoyed the process of choosing a dress at Astra Bridal. The lovely Ilyese listened intentely to the sort of styles I was interested in. She then encouraged me to try some dresses that I wouldn't have picked myself and that is how I met my dress... As soon as I tried it on, all other dresses were measure against it for comfort, light-hearted fun and classic style. I really liked the lace along my collarbone and the patterns of the lace down my back. Carrie was so surprisingly light and easy to wear all day.

"We wanted everyone to feel included in our ceremony which was a Catholic Nuptial Mass. Many of our guests were unfamiliar with such a ceremony, so we provided order of service booklets to help outline the proceedings and our super-friendly and hilarious priests actively engaged with the congregation during the Mass."

"Family is really important to us - so we really enjoyed having everyone together in one place enjoying a super happy celebration. Sam and I got to know each other through running a youth group at this Cathedral and this made it very special to celebrate with all our church family as well. It was wonderful to sit up the front at the ceremony and look out over all the people we love, here to support us on our happiest of days."

"We wanted everyone to feel relaxed and have the opportunity to catch up with friends and family at the event; people that may have not seen eachother for many years. We encouraged conversations by limiting loud background music at the reception and choosing a venue with good acoustics. Everyone was able to circulate after dinner and have happy reunions."
