Liz's Romantic Rarotongan Wedding

Aaron and Liz tied the knot on the 28th May 2016 at Muri Beachclub Hotel in Rarotonga. The colours were black and silver and while they hadn’t planned it the look just fell into place. Liz and Aaron wanted a relaxed wedding with sun sand and fun. They choose this location as they had been there 2 years before and fell in love with the laid back pace of the Island. Liz said “it’s a beautiful location, and it was a great excuse to go back and for our friends and family to have a holiday.”

This is their story…

Favourite wedding day moment:
Our first dance. Aaron had chosen the song and had kept it a secret from me. Michael Bolton, To Love Somebody. We were in the Marque, on the sand surrounded by friends and family who all started singing along. Both of us were in our own bubble and was a really special moment for us.

Other than your gown what was your favourite item from your wedding?
My flowers. I had a head piece and bouquet brought up to me on the morning of the wedding. I had chosen the colours but that was all I really knew. Was so happy.

Advice for future brides:
Don’t sweat the small stuff. On the day things will happen that are outside of your control. Remember why you are there and that the only thing that matters on the day are your future husband and yourself. To make it easier lists do help. If you are OCD like me it helps to cross off and know where you’re at. Again though it’s about you and your partner.
Your wedding in one word - Bliss

Favourite part of the dress
The beading detail, simply stunning.

Why did you choose your dress?
I’d seen it on the Astra Bridal website when I was starting to look. It was different to anything I thought I would wear but I thought I’d give it a go. I’m a pear shape so wanted to feel like I was balanced on the day and this dress made me feel amazing.

What made your Astra Bridal experience special?
Everything. As soon as I arrived with my Mum, my mother in law and my close friend, Lisa from the Wellington store made us feel right at home. She sat down and discussed where the wedding was and was fantastic at helping choose dresses to try on that would suit body shape and location. Every time I came back into the shop the service was fantastic, there was never any pressure.
