Romance, D.I.Y. and a hint of Paris at a Woodlands Estate Wedding
Surprise Paris Proposal
Tane organised the most romantic of proposals in the Capital of Romance. He whisked Jessica away to Paris with the intention of proposing to her by the Eiffel Tower but it was super busy when they arrived there so he decided to wait until he had Jessica all to himself.
"At the end of a romantic day wandering around the city being tourists, he treated me to a fancy dinner at a local restaurant where we stayed until the early hours of the morning. He popped the question afterwards in our hotel room overlooking a beautiful garden, where I was free to happy-cry! I had no idea he was planning to propose (silly me - he took me to Paris!) so it took me completely by surprise. He spent months planning - and yes, he even asked my Dad!"
Meryl by Maggie Sottero
I am so happy we found Astra Bridal. I was so sure I wouldn't suit a ball gown, yet as soon as the girls at the Auckland Salon showed me Meryl I was blown away. It was like falling in love all over again! Meryl was the first dress I tried on and no dress I tried after that could top it! I loved everything about my gown - it fit like a glove, showed off my waist and bust in all the right ways and was super easy to move and dance in. I'm all about the details - the dotted tulle, low back, subtle champagne colour and gorgeous sparkle gave such a fun twist to a classic ball gown. Meryl was the perfect gown for a perfect day. I felt absolutely beautiful.
The overall feel of our wedding was romantic, relaxed and family oriented.
The most important thing for me and Tane was to make sure everything was totally personal to us, and the best way to do that was to do it ourselves! I made my own hairpiece, invitations and progammes and did my own makeup. My Bridesmaids put together the table decorations and my wonderful groom organised all our vendors - most of them being our close friends!

Favourite part of the day?
Our Vows! We spent so long writing them so actually saying them to each other felt absolutely magical.
Our Photographer, Ceremony Musicians, Celebrant and DJ were all some of our best friends and we couldn't be more thankful for their willingness to be part of our Big Day (and their talent of course!). They made everything so relaxed and special.
