#weddingwednesday The Old Church Napier

Simone and Kevin had friends and family come from all over the world to help them celebrate their wedding day at the Old Church in Napier. This made their wedding a destination wedding and Simone talks us through who they used to make their wedding day fantastic.

Simone said the team at the Old Church were really accomodating and a pleasure to deal with.

Our hair and makeup was done byCandice Dear and Juliet Williams both from Napier.  For my bridesmaids I thought it was important they feel comfortable with their hair so left it over to them. They all looked stunning!!

Special moments included my brothers (Jamon & Mitchell) driving the bridesmaids, my father and I to the venue. That was a special father/daughter time spent on the way. Both of our father's spoke at the reception welcoming both families which was special and my little brother (Mitchell) honored those who are no longer with us.

Jo Smith was the celebrant for the day and Simone said "We felt we clicked and that was all that was important to us. She was superb on the day and made the ceremony flow with ease."

The flowers were from BeauKayes.  "Kaye understood exactly what I was after as well as sharing her expertise and made the process incredibly easy."

About the gown "I loved my experience of shopping for 'that special dress' at Astra Bridal. I had visited a few stores and tried a few dresses but had not yet had the warm fuzzies. I knew I had found 'the one' when I tried the Melitta gown. It brought tears to my eyes as well as my mother's and sister in law's. The staff at Astra bridal were so lovely and helpful - especially Kirsty, she is an absolute doll!!

I fell in love with the beautiful heavy lace and the gorgeous train on the Melitta gown. I also loved that the covered buttons started at the nape of my neck and continued until the end of the train...GORGEOUS! Mum and I added a little crystal detail to the shoulders to add a bit of sparkle as well."

The cake was from Utopia Cakes in Hastings.  All the contact was via email and the cake was delivered to the florist - huge trust with a good result.

Lastly, Kev and I are big music lovers so having a band was important to us. The band 'Twisted' from Palmerston North rocked the night away. A band of three that make the sound of six. They created an awesome atmosphere and had everyone up dancing.
