Why should you go to a wedding show!
Wedding show season is upon us and we are really excited! There are so many reasons that you should make sure you book these into your calendar. Here are just a few, plus some advice on getting the most out of your day.
A wedding show allows you to research a wide variety of vendors all in one place – a huge help with your planning. You will get to see samples of their products, work, and designs.
A wedding show is a great place to win things as most exhibitors will run a competition on the day, so make sure you enter everything and sign up to databases
Tip – Some brides preprint stickers with their details on them
Fashion shows! Obviously the highlight for us, but as a bride you will get to see all the latest wedding dresses from local designers and wedding stockists. It is a great chance to see what is on trend and get an idea of what you might like.
A chance to see wedding gowns up close and personal and start learning all about them. You can quiz a stylist with your burning questions.
Tip - Look at the gowns to see how well constructed they are, and get a chance to talk to the stylists. Also bring your calendar as most bridal salons will let you book in for a consultation on the day. We certainly do!
Ideas and inspiration! This is your chance to see some of the incredible products and services available to brides. This is your chance to allow your creativity to explode. The hardest part is choosing what to include in your wedding. I always come away full of ideas to pass on to our brides – every year there is something new and amazing.
Prioritise who you must see based on how far out you need to book the services or products. For example we recommend that you start your gown search 6-9 months before your wedding to allow you to choose from the entire range available. The best photographers and venues will book up a year in advance too.
Tip – Most event websites will list the vendors who will be at the show. Do some research before hand and check out their websites, and then make a list in order of priority of who you want to see. Tick those people off and then you have the rest of the time to explore the show. Most shows go for 6 hours so you have plenty of time to see everyone you want - make the most of it.
Most of all – have fun! Bring your bridesmaids, Mum; even your fiancé if he wants to come. In fact, having your fiancé on hand can be great for decision making however in our experience it might be worth sending them off for coffee during the fashion parade.
We are really excited about the upcoming schedule of events that we will be attending so please put these in your diary, buy your tickets now and make the most of early bird pricing and put us on your list of must see people!
